1941: "Today marks an event in Donald's life.  He is confirmed at St. Vincent's Church by Bishop Paul Peter Rhode.  Edward Weisheipl is his sponsor.  We all have dinner at the Weisheipl's.  Edward had intended to take Donald to the Packers - Chicago Bears football game - and by the way the Green Bay Packers were defeated by the Bears 25-17." September 21:

1936: "Down to Matt's (Baier, Theresa's cousin?) this morning, he is losing ground.  I phoned for Father Bastianat 2:30 this afternoon.  He came immediately and offered prayers for him.  Matt passed away very peacefully at about 5:15 PM. [from A.E. Potter's diaries]
2007: Tabitha Potter (great-great granddaughter) is born to Jason Potter (great-grandson), son of Mark Potter (grandson).

1941: (Chicago) Norm Brown has to attend a saleman's meeting.  I was all by myself the morning and part of the afternoon.  Had lunch at "Fish and Chips" and them took in Marshall Fields - story by story - floor by floor from basement to the ninth floor.  It was plenty interesting...Forgot to mention that I took in the "Institute of Art" this morning. 1939: "Had an invitation to be at the Wisconsin Pharmaceutical State Convention to receive an honor reward as a 25 year member of the Association.  Well, I was going and while waiting to make arrangements with the boys I find Art Mueller and Fred Baumgartner and their wives had gone this morning without informing me." 1934: "Took the children (Donald and Mary Ann) to the fair in the afternoon.  It was pleasant to be out.  People's Brewery was robbed of about $1500." [from A.E. Potter's diaries]

1953: "A holdup man called at the house of Victor Helstrom 345 E. Irving at 11:45 last night, forced Vic and his wife Arlene to go with him to the Krambo Store Jackson Drive where he had Vic get the money from the Krambo safe while he held Arlene hostage. Victor handed over $20,000. in checks and $4000 in cash.  He then had Vic drive to Sacred Heart Cemetery and tied both to trees." [from A.E. Potter's diaries]
