September 29:

1934: "Went out hickory nutting with the Heips this afternoon.  Got a terrible reception from one farmer, but a good one at Otto Haase in Poygan.  Met John Beerntsen there.  It began to rain and we quit hickory nutting in a hurry." [from A.E. Potter's diaries]
1945: "War time ends tonite in most of the country.  This means an extra hour of sleep.  We have been on war time since Feb. 9, 1942." [from A.E. Potter's diaries]
