1946: "We have company tonite and it is tonite because Uncle Joe Weisheipl had an evening off from work. Ed and Thres Fretschl - Uncle Joe and Annie - Aunt Lena are here. Aunt Annie is really feeling excellent after a few tonics. Uncle Joe's eye is OK and his hands look pretty good. Thres and yours truly also receive presents. I got linen handkerchiefs. The party broke up at 2:10 A.M. with Annie still going strong." [from A. E. Potter's diaries]
1950 : "Cloudy but warm today. Completed putting on storm windows upstairs this afternoon. Donald (son) was here to help. Mother takes care of Debby (granddaughter) for the evening. Arlene (daughter-in-law) brings over half a loaf of wheat bread. It's her first try at baking bread and she's done a good job." [from A. E. Potter's diaries]
