1954: "We had our rain early this morning. Attended Kiwanis luncheon. Boy Scout executive spoke to us. To Mercy Hospital, Sister Phillipina gave me 200 dollars on Fraus Stampfer's note. Stopped in to see Mrs. Panske; she is much improved. Back to Mercy this evening for crowning of the May Queen, an impressive service. Cameras are evident. Sister Emmlia is a photographer also. 1957: "To 6:45 Mass- Father Schorn. Raining- Temperature 47°. Art Mueller to Milwaukee this morning to Shriner's celebration. A year ago he was initiated, but this year he could take in all the fun. Clarence Bronson is there and they have very good vantage seats. Advance Gift Committee kickoff dinner at St. John's. Bishop Grellinger encouraged us. We all have to make our own pledges.
