1953: "Had a call from Sister Irene in regard to sponsoring Frank Stampfer. He needs money to come to this country. Also visited Aunt Mary. She is willing to come home with me. Had our corporation registered at the Court House. Had quite a visit with George Young, Register of Deeds. We attended supper at the English Lutheran Memorial Hall. I ate too much and suffered for it later...Had a pleasant surprise at the store. Johnny Gallagher from Shawano dropped in to see me tonite. We had good times years ago." [from A. E. Potter's diaries]
