1939: "To six o'clock Mass, as usual, then to work. During the afternoon took Mary Ann (daughter) to Sacred Heart to Children's Keno Party, visited Raymond and Anna Ostertag for a while and was taken thru their new home, which is complete with the exception of painting the walls.
