Roosevelt is drafted and unanimously nominated to serve a third term as President of the U.S.A. thereby setting a precedent. No President has ever accepted a third term in honor of our first President George Washington who refused to serve a third term. Took a drive to Twin Lakes this afternoon to visit Donald. He likes camping very much. He is doing W.P.A. road work with the road crew when we arrive. Joe and Ann Weisheipl were with us. Stopped at Mrs. Herricks Omro for our evening meal." [from A. E. 1956: "To Kiwanis luncheon Dr. John Petersik from the State Hospital gave an interesting talk on 'Mental Illness' and its treatment in the various types and phases. Aloys Kinateder is being operated on at Mayo Clinic Rochester, Minn. The tented showing of the circus is a thing of the past according to John Ringling North, of the Ringling Brothers Barnum and Bailey Shows. The 'Big Top' of the 'Greatest Show on Earth' was taken down for the last time in Pittsburgh last night where 10,000 people turned out to see the show." [from A. E. Potter's diaries]
1995: Austin Potter, son of Jason Potter, grandson of Mark Potter, great-grandson of Don an Arlene Potter, great-great-grandson of A.E. and Theresa Potter is born.
