1939: "Ma Potter goes to town, so I take care of the kids. It is a lovely day. Took them swimming and about 5:30 out fishing, had good luck about 15 nice perch. Brought them in for Joe Heip so they might enjoy a nice meal of fresh fish. Brought Dolores Kinateder home as she was getting homesick for her mother. Anna Weisheipl comes back with Thres at night to stay a few days. Dr. C. J. Combs passed away this morning." [from A. E. Potter's diaries]
