1949: "George Stadler's birthday. Born 1872. Had a visit with Arlene's folks this morning and then had to break the news to Mother and Mary Ann at home. Mother was not only surprised, but shocked. I called Donald home and we decided the date as August 6th is proper arrangements could be made. I broke the news to Father Alphonse Wagner this afternoon; he is also very much surprised." [from A. 1955: "Had a call from Donald at 3 A.M. that he's bringing Debbie and Donnie, took Arlene to the hospital and at 4:47 a 9 lb. 2 oz. baby boy [Mark John] is born to her, other dimensions Head 14 - Shoulders 16 - Chest 14 ½ - Abdomen 1 - Hips 13 ½ - Length 22 inches." [from A. E. Potter's diaries]
1957: "To 6:45 Mass - Father Milbauer - about 50 communicants. Mother entertains the S.S. Busioness Men's Auxiliary, 37 ladies came to our cottage. It's a wonderful day, a real summer's day, temperature is 86°. They all agree they had a very pleasant and enjoyable time. After the party Don and family come with John and Lucille Felker to celebrate Markie's birthday. He is two today and of all the presents he enjoys a truck the most.
