July 6

1937: "Brought some company for the children Joan and Marion Drexler. They are to stay for the week. John Voss is elected President of the Board of Education." [from A. E. Potter's diaries]
1939: "This is a sizzler for heat, temperature's officially 98°. In the evening we are treated to a severe electrical storm and a heavy downpour of rain.  Rose gets 3 letters from Bob today. I call that a record." [from A. E. Potter's diaries]
1941: "Drove to town for 7:30 Mass then to work until 1 P.M. Took Aunt Mary, Thres, Mary Ann, Dolores and Lawrence Kinateder to the Strand to see Bob Hope and Dorothy Lamour in Caught in the Draft also James Stephenson and Geraldine Fitspatrick in Shining Victory. We all had a treat at Joe Pollack's Fountain - Boston Nut Sundaes, Banana Splits, etc. Worked until 8:45 then back to the cottage. Joe and Celia Drexler, Tony and Mrs. De Lorme stopped in for a visit. Thres Fretschl stayed overnite which meant sheephead until 1 A.M." [from A. E. Potter's diaries]
