1933: "7:30 Mass with Male Choir then to work until 3 P.M. Then to Waverly Beach near Appleton where the State Picnic of Musicians is being held. They have about the largest dance hall I've seen. Back home at 8:45, then to the Strand to see Marie Dressler and Wallace Beery, Robert Young and Maureen O'Sullivan in Tug Boat Annie. 1937: "Dr. Milton Zentner is married to Eugenia Bittner this afternoon 4 o'clock at Martin Luther Church on Jackson Drive. The ceremony was performed by Rev. J.E. Bittner, the bride's brother. Dr. Zentner has dental offices above our north side store." [from A. E. Potter's diaries]
1941: "Sisters of St. Vincent's have their annual picnic at our cottage. Sisters Bede, Valeria, Viatora, Romano, Jonella, Generose, Marcelia, Erminelda, Isadora. They enjoy themselves very much and hope to be with us again next year. I drive to Mount Calvary to attend Alumni of St. Lawrence College Convention. Met some of the boys I knew at school. Fathers Les Sharp, Dominic Diedrich, John Dapp, Mike Prock, Louis Schorn, Frank Heyman, Ed Boney, Jack Quella, Joe Esdepsby." [from A. E. Potter's diaries]
