August 9

1934: "President Roosevelt is visiting Wisconsin today. His party stops at Green Bay for three hours in honor of the Wisconsin Tercentenary. His train passes thru Oshkosh at 12:20 P.M. It is an extremely warm day with the humidity very high."  [from A. E. Potter's diaries]  
1939: "Took a drive to De Pere this afternoon with Donald and Mary Ann. Delivered the chalice to Rev. Michael Drexler at St. Norbert's Abbey where he is on retreat. Will and Emma Siewert spend the evening with us at the cottage." [from A. E. Potter's diaries]  
1955: "Attended Kiwanis - have missed several meetings, took Harvey Lhost along as a guest, also had to bring a prize for Dr. Pfefferkorn. Had a conference with Francis Lamb in regard to Don and family insurance program." [from A. E. Potter's diaries]
