1939: "Attended surprise dance at Argonne Hall in honor of Frank and Anna Drexler. Thres Bruehmiller had taken them to Milwaukee and it was 10:30 before they were back. Stopped at Harry Kujawa's, found no one home, but did meet them downtown on Huron Street and were they surprised to see us walking down the street.
