01.  
02.  Friday: [T] To St. Vincents at 7 Oclock with Thres.  Temperature up to 92° again today.         Com.  Donald – Mary Ann
03.  Saturday: Ed Fretchel is out at the cottage this afternoon and starts to paint. Romy, Lovie Czecalsky Anna Drexler and little Gail Radomsky come in from Milwaukee this morning, have dinner with us and this afternoon we took them to Berlin. Emma Siewert and Caroline Kellerman leave for Minneapolis this morning about 8 Oclock.
04.  Sunday: To 6 Oclock Mass with Thres at St. Johns.  Took Ed Fretchel out, after mass, to the cottage.  Joe Weisheipl Sr. leaves for Chicago this morning as a delegate from the local musicians union to the National Convention.  Mary Kujawa (Berlin) mixer first “Holy Communion) this morning.  Attended St. Vincents Childrens Program this evening and then back to work for me until 11 P.M.                 Com.  Mary Kujawa
05.  Monday: [2M] Donald begins working at the North Store this morning. Also got his labor permit and Social Security Number XXX-XX-XXXX. Melvin Karst begins working at the West Side Store. Dropped in to see Annie Heip this noon. She is now sitting up. Father Frank Schoettl drops in at our house for a short visit. Harry Kujawa brings in the folks from Berlin to catch the train for Milwaukee. Agnes says baby “Gail” was grand at their house.
06.  Tuesday: This is (D) Deliverance Day in Europe and the Invasion is on. The Allies attack thru Normandy France. Landings are made at Cherbourg and other French ports. Churches are open for prayer all over the U.S. Even the President leads in prayer for Victory tonite. R.W. nearly knocks me out today, but after some fresh air I'm OK again. John Law, former Mayor of Madison speaks to Kiwanis on State Trunk Highways. Our table Joe Drasol, Ray Baxandall, Frank Fraker, Dr. Christenson and myself. Dave Collin is in New York.
07.  Wednesday: To Directors of Chamber of Commerce luncheon.  Last meeting until fall.  Took Thres Fretchel and Thres to visit Anna Heip and played cards.  Home at 11.45 P.M. and thats early.  St. Vincents Childrens Picnic at South Park today.
08.  Thursday: This is a big evening for Mueller-Potter Sunshine Club. They have their party at “Club Ramie.” And what a party, everybody has a good time. From the Club Ramie some of us are invited to room 418 Raulf. Mr. and Mrs. Dietze entertain us until we get chased out about 4 A.M. Took Aunt Mary to Annie Heips this morning.
09.  Friday: [T 4M] Everybody is tired today after the party.  The folks also have a headache when they find what the cost of the party is: $160.85 for drinks, 12.00 for eats, 10.00 for Clayton Kuehn and Kenneth Brager were leaving soon for the Navy and Army.

11.  Sunday: To St. Johns 730 Mass.  Took Ed Fretchel to the cottage, to spray trees and paint screens.  Joe Weisheipl brings my grip back this afternoon.  He came home from the convention of the American Federation of Musicians last evening.  He enjoyed it very much.  Received 18350 for his attendance fees, for the week.
12.  Monday: To Kiwanis directors meeting at the Athearn this noon.  Took Donald along to visit Phil Laffey who is confined to Mercy Hospital. Ed Ihrig, President of Pine Ihrig Company is fatally hurt in an auto accident this evening on a town road south of Oshkosh.  His car was struck by a coupe driven by Fred C. Luebke R#1.  Born in town of Vinland July 11 – 1890.
13.  Tuesday: Rabbi Shapiro “Green Bay” speaks to Kiwanis today on Jerusalem –The White Paper and Jewish Homelessness.  Our table Eric Baller – Ozzie Witte – Dave Johnson – Charlie Roeder. Gene Crowner the found dead in bed this morning 6.25 by Mrs. Crowner.  Born in Briarton, Shawano County Aug. 23 – 1888.  Police Captain since Sept. 14 – 1931.
14.  Wednesday: Had trouble starting my Chrysler this morning.  Harold Mueller pushed me from his store to the Gust Bett Garage.  Took Ed Fretchel – Al Mugerauer, Thres and Mary Ann to the cottage.  Ed and Al start to paint this noon.  Mary Ann and I cut grass.  We spend our first night at the cottage this year.
15.  Thursday: [N] Ed and Al finished the first coat at the cottage.  Took them home tonight about 9 oclock during an electrical storm.
16.  Friday: [N] Took Aunt Mary to Weisheipl’s this morning, to spend the day. Bart Heiss becomes a papa today.  A 9 pound boy is born.
17.  Saturday: Aunt Mary is back this noon.  She fell out of bed at Weisheipl’s at 230 this morning, hurt her left side and hip.  Took Donald and Norman Koelbl along to cottage.  Donald tries to drive.  He is fair at it.  Donald stays at Koelbl’s overnite.
18.  Sunday: To St. Johns 730 Mass, Thres – Mary Ann – Donald and self.  Aunt Lena Baier is with us for dinner and supper.  During the afternoon a heavy windstorm rages, which no doubt is doing much damage.  Fathers Day today and I get a hanky from Milwaukee, some cigars – a sport shirt and a necktie from the folks.  Took Aunt Lena home at 11.30. Bertaline Lange (Mrs. Bill) has a little boy at Mercy this afternoon at 130.              Com.  Stanislaus Jarosch
19.  Monday: [2M T] We learn of some of the damage of yesterday’s storm.  Many trees are down.  Telephone poles and wires are down.  A fire at the county home is caused by a bolt of lightning.  The entire building was enveloped in flames in a short time.  All inmates were saved.  Visited Anton Pable at Sunnyview this afternoon.  He is looking much improved.
20.  Tuesday: [2M] To Kiwanis Luncheon.  A picture of the Alcan Hiway is shown.  Our table, Rev. Hugh Misdall – Frank Fraker – Harold Youngberg.  Lena Baier spends the day with us.
21.  Wednesday: Took Thres and Mary Ann to Milwaukee.  This is Thres first trip since her illness and she takes are pretty well, altho she is very tired after it.  Lunch at Fritz Gust, met Al Hart – Eddie Lange –Ed McCullough there.  Yahr-Lange – McClurg –Mutual –Mr.Haase are the places I bought merchandise.  Visited at Margaret’s.  Sick Aunty is about the same but Gail is doing swell weighs 20 pounds.  Attended Riverside Theatre.  Lionel Hampton’s colored band is really hot.  Basil Rathbone and Nigel Bruce star in “The Scarlet Claw.” Home at midnight.
22.  Thursday: [N] The Weisheipls, Joe and Annie Thres and myself visit with Ed and Thres Fretchel tonite.  Lena Baier is also there.  It is really Thres Fretchels birthday celebration, altho our birthday was April 5th.
23.  Friday: [N 2M] Edward Weisheipl has is tonsils removed by Dr. Hugo, this morning.
24.  Saturday: [T] Took Bill Mauritz and Billy Jr.  Along to the cottage this afternoon.  They cut the grass.  Bobby Brand has a new type of wedding shower at their cottage, one with not much clothes on.
25.  Sunday: To 730 Mass as usual and then to work.  Took Thres and Mary Ann to the Oshkosh to see “See here Private Hargrove” starring Robert Walker and Donna Reed, side feature is “Gun to Gun.” In the evening took Aunt Mary –Thres to the cottage.
26.  Monday: [2M] Republican Convention opens at Chicago Stadium.
27.  Tuesday: [2M N] Another hot day.  Our thermometer showed 92°.  Took Thres – Mary Ann and Aunt Lena to the cottage this evening.  They intend to stay a few days.  Ed Weisheipl is back on the job today.  Carl Binder is taken to Sunny View San. for observation.
28.  Wednesday: Took Naomi Mueller along to Milwaukee to the Cometic Show.  Proves to be an interesting experience for her.  Had noon luncheon at Yahr Lange’s.  It was terribly hot in Milwaukee.  Took are two Riverside Theatre where “Rochester” Jack Benny’s comedian is on the stage in person.  Stopped at Margarets for a steak sandwich.  Annie and Baby Gail are the time.  Arrived back home at 12 midnight.

30.  Friday: [4M N] Dropped in to see sister in law Annie Drexler (Mrs. John).  She is not feeling so well lately.  Joe Baier and family are out to the cottage today and bring the folks home this evening.  Auto stamps are selling well today.  I bought 850 at the post office at 5 dollars per copy.
