1933: A.E. Potter begins writing a daily diary.
1942: "After two hours of sleep I attend six o'clock Mass at St. John's, then down to the store to open up for the day. The New Year is ushered in with a heavy blizzard, in fact, so bad no taxis are running. Most amusement places are closed. I took off a few hours this afternoon for a little rest. In the evening had Bob Heideman take Naomi Mueller home and go to the post office for me. Eddie and Rose Weisheipl are off today." [from A. E. Potter's diaries]
1948: "The New Year is with us and of course most of us are anxious to know what it will bring. Let us hope that it will bring health and happiness to our family and relief to the folks in war-torn Europe and Asia. Worked about 2 hours this morning and attended 12 o'clock Mass with mother. Visited at Joe Baier's this afternoon with our family and after that to the Strand to see My Wild Irish Rose starring Dennis Morgan, Arlene Dahl, Andrea King and Alan Hale. Milwaukee ushers in the New Year with six inches of snow." [from A. E. Potter's diaries]
2004: The family has a New Year's baby when Dylan Kolaske (great-great grandson) is born to Kristi Kolaske, daughter of Mike Kolaske and Debbie (nee Potter) Kolaske.
