1942: "Eddie Weisheipl's day off. Art, Norbert Mueller, Fred Baumgartner and myself meet at the South Side Store tonight to determine the policies of the company for the ensuing year. Meeting lasts until midnight, but I do not get to bed until 3:30 A.M. Tuesday. The first contingent of American troops, several thousand men, arrive in Northern Ireland. This is quite a surprise, as their departure was kept a secret." [from A. E. Potter's diaries]
1948: "Well at last it happened, what do you think, we get our new Plymouth DeLuxe Club Coupe and I drive it. Didn't think I'd be strong enough to. Mama gets her hair do but not a permanent. I made out several federal reports tonite at the store. Richard Wolfgram begins working at our South Store." [from A. E. Potter's diaries]
