1947: "Mrs. Theresa Lyman passed away this afternoon at 4:30. Born in Watertown, Wis April 5, 1870. The business of the Oshkosh Tent and Awning Co. is sold today by Jack Embs and Leo Bussey to Everett George of Decatur, Il. Mr. George moved to Oshkosh and will reside with his family at 1827 Hubbard St." [from A. E. Potter's diaries]
1954: "Saw Uncle Joe this noon, his breathing is much shorter. Our farmers veterinary meeting is scheduled for 8 o'clock tonite at Clarence Denigers. Just getting ready to pick up Donald (son) to go to the meeting when we get a call that Uncle Joe passed away at 7:15. Thres and myself drive out immediately. Fahter Bunkelman is reciting prayers for the dead. We stay until 11 o'clock to help cheer Annie up. She is holding up quite well. Mary Ann (daughter) has company tonite; Joanna Mauritz, Fay Baier, and Doris Heisler are over." [from A. E. Potter's diaries]
1957: "To 7:15 Hi Mass Father Milbauer is with the Christian Mothers. Don (son), Arlene (daughter-in-law), Debbie, Donnie (grandchildren) are with me. The children are very well behaved. Don and Debbie must of course put the envelopes in the collection basket. Mary Ann (daughter) took care of Markie (grandson), stays at Don's for dinner. Mother and I take a ride this afternoon, watch the skaters at Menominee Park Ice Rink and then for a visit with Tom and Dee Peck at their new home on Doemel Drive. Met Norm Ellish and Dee's aunt from Green Bay there. They both work at Sears Roebuck there. Attended rosary for Paul Sitter this evening." [from A. E. Potter's diaries]
