January 16

1947: "This is a great day for Donald (son), he graduated from Hi School.  Uncle Joe, Aunt Annie, Aunt Lena attend the graduation exercises with us.  The speakers Margaret Tellekson, Robert Wagenhals, Nona Eggers, Michael Anderson are very interesting.  After the graduation the folks stop with us, Donald takes them home at 1:30 A.M." [from A. E. Potter's diaries]
1953: "Postmaster Ray Novotny tells me he is to advertise for a substation on Main Street.  This is a floow up of my conversaion with him some time ago in regard to opening a station at our new store when rady for occupancy.  Father Alphonse Wagner is in this morning somewhat disappointed because he hasn't found a couple to go with him to Florida.  Tonite he's back and tells me Ed and Mrs. Kalupa from Kaukauna are going with him.  They will make good company for him." [from A.
