January 19

1941: "To 9 o'clock Mass this morning, then to work.  Visited Grandma Baier this afternnon.  She is still in bed but looks fairly well.  When Thres and I got home we find we have company.  Harry Agnes Jackie Mary Kujawa, Anna and Leona Drexler are here and have supper with us.  Donald (son) fixed Jackie up in a boy scout suit and he surely likes that.  Thres goes to St. vincent's Cash Bingo and wins $1.50 and I work until 11:45 P.M." [from A. E. Potter's diaries]
1947: "To 7:30 Mass St. Vincent's.  Donald (son) begins working at the South Store today.  This evening Thres and myself view the remains of Eddie Kollross at Fiss and Bill's.  I spent the rest of the evening cleaning up in our dining room, getting rid of old papers, magazines, etc.  Had a lovely venison dinner today." [from A. E. Potter's diaries]
