June 10

1934: "Sang at 7:30 Hi Mass with mixed choir. Then work until 2 P.M. Took Louis and Mary Mauritz and Margaret Drexler to Milwaukee. Sister Melora is still teaching at Holy Cross. The congregation is quite large between 600 and 700 families. The Paladine Fathers are the pastors. They also have a few novices for their order at this place. They intend to build soon and have more students. Met Sister Rosewin, the Superior at the school. Had a visit with Karl Radomsky, Margaret's beau. Sponged a sandwich at the Knickerbocker Hotel." [from A. E. Potter's diaries]
1941: "Visited Grandma Baier; she was awaiting me, saying I did not visit her last Thursday when she was expecting me. Viewed the remains of Albert Kersche at Marquardt funeral home. The Weisheipls almost had a fire in their home. Anna left the electric flat iron on when she left for Club 41. Fortunately Marion stopped at the house about 10 P.M. discovered smoke in the house and shut off the electricity. The ironing board was burned to a crisp." [from A. E. Potter's diaries]
1949: "Carl Fischer, merchant tailor, passed away this afternoon at his home, 241 Waugoo St. He owned a tailor shop next to Marx and Fengels for 35 years. He worked for my father when he was a young man nearly 50 years ago. Born Germany March 8, 1875. Took a drive this evening thru Eureka, Omro, and back home." [from A. E. Potter's diaries]
