1934: "Drug Convention opens in Fond du Lac. It is a real business convention with lots of fun at night. Mrs. Ed Worm is celebrating her birthday and how! It's a Wow! Arrived home at 3:30 A.M. Being chairman of the committee revising the constitution and bylaws I had to present this for first reading. Had lunch at the Kiwanis Club with Ed Worm and John Demgen." [from A. E. Potter's diaries]
1951: "To town early this morning. Picked up Virginia Abrahms and daughter Louise then Sisters Alverna, Ermenhilda, Theodore and ? and took them to Mount Mary. The Sisters took loads of luggage. In fact I stopped in Fond du Lac; thought I'd lost some from the trunk of the car. They took us thru Mount Mary, very interesting chapel, study and classrooms, auditorium, swimming pool, lounges for smoking and reception lounge rooms. Paintings of Dr. Fitzgerald President of Mount Mary also his wife. Mount Mary is indeed a beautiful spot. Took Ginny and Louise to Mader's for noon meal at 1 P.M. then to Broadway Church Goods House. Alex Paderowski left us for the golf grounds, then to McClurgs, to Cape Cod Inn - lobster tail dinner, then for home, arrived 10:30 P.M. Emma Siewert spends the aft. and eve. with Thres at the cottage." [from A. E. Potter's diaries]
1952: "The South Side Business Mens' Club sponsors a ladies night. We are treated with a trip thru the new home of Baldwin Meyers on Washington Street. Mrs. Meyer's parents Mr./Mrs. Maru Carol are there. It's a beautiful layout, very sensible and livable. Then we inspect the Oshkosh Filtration Plant and from there to Sommerfeld Welding's new home on Jackson Drive. They supply oxygen tanks to hospitals. Entertainment and dancing complete the evening."
