1939: "Donald and myself have the cottage to ourselves this afternoon and what did we do - fish of course. Caught 20 nice size perch and 2 pickerel. Donald got a large pickerel still fishing this morning. Mother and Mary Ann drive to town to a movie." [from A. E. Potter's diaries]
1949: "Kienast Company begins digging for the basement at the new addition. To Kiwanis luncheon, Earl Clemans spoke. He was to the National Convention last week, did not say much about it. But did speak on a Norse group who were to have or did explore and live in Minnesota about 1362 - 130 years before Columbus discovered America. Lawrence Kinateder is at the cottage today." [from A. E. Potter's diaries] (note: The addition was to the South Side Store.)
1953: "Twenty eight years (excuse me) Thirty years ago today F.W. Mueller and A. E. Potter bought out August Klawun's business on the corner of Boyd and Merritt Streets and opened a drug store there across from St. Mary's Hospital." [from A. E. Potter's diaries]
