04.  Sunday: In the month of February turns out to be as nice as today, it will be goodbye Winter.  Attended 10 Oclock at St. Johns.  Visited Max Weisheipl Sr.  Joe’s Dad, this afternoon.  He is much improved.
05.  Monday:
06.  Tuesday: A beautiful day.  Had some surprise visitors today Mrs. Dimpfl and Mrs. Frank Drexler 12th St. Thres
07.  Wednesday:
08.  Thursday: 15° below zero this morning Edward Bremer 36, Saint Paul Banker is released today to his father by kidnappers who had held in 22 days.  They demanded $200 000 for his ransom.  Fired damage to Ed Marheine’s Garage and practically destroyed the A Streich & Bro Office and Garage.  Ida’s car was also badly damaged.  Damage is estimated at $15 000.  Had plenty of taxi jobs tonight, it’s about 10° below zero.  Mr. Bullock on Jackson Street, Dorothy Sykowski on Oregon St. and John Kamm and girl to Franklin Ave, also some 5 handed sheephead at Rich Doman’s.
09.  Friday: I am back as chauffeur for Joe and Ann since yesterday morning.

12.  Monday: Lincoln’s Birthday.  The Father and Son’s Banquets for the Boy Coats are held tonight.  I attended District #4 Banquet at Emmanuel Church.  Attended meeting of the Druggist at Al Christl’s after the banquet.
13.  Tuesday:
14.  Ash Wednesday: Karl Binder is taken to Sunnyview San today.  Lent begins today.
15.  Thursday: Attended meeting of the Winnebago Pharmacy Association, and got a job too.  Was elected President of the Winnebago County Association.
16.  Friday: Took a drive this afternoon.  The weather is nice and Thres enjoys a ride for a change.
17.  Saturday: Not as busy today.  Carl Radamsky drops in at 11.30 P. M. from Milwaukee. Of Course he knows Margaret is here.  Well, we had a nice visit anyway, and the folks are all very hungry, especially when we have fresh home-made Rye Bread.
18.  Sunday: 10.30 Mass this morning.  Worked part of the morning, afternoon and all evening.  Took a ride to the cottage this afternoon with Ed Fretchel and Robert.  Brought in 25 – ½ gal Bottles of water.  After work visited Bern Doman – Archie Rumlow and finished the day playing Keeno at St. Vincents.  I won nothing, Thres won a compact set of Kitchen Ware and some Pillow Slips.  King Albert of Belgium was killed yesterday while mountain climbing.  He was very fond of this sport.
19.  Monday: Attended a show for a change.
20.  Tuesday: Attended sheephead tournament at John Spanbauer’s but I didn’t win a thing, but I had a lot of fun.  Dropped over to see Grandma Baier this evening.  She has a birthday and is 84 years of age today.

22.  Thursday: Mr. and Mrs. F. W. Mueller leaves for Miami Florida this afternoon.  Frank Steinert passed away this afternoon at 5 Oclock at Mercy Hospital.  He was born Jan 26 – 1890.  His wife to whom he was married Oct 25 – 1911 preceded him in death Jan 8 – 1928.  Her maiden name was Esther Abraham.  Frank conducted a tavern at 604 So. Park Ave.  Survived by 5 brothers and 3 sisters.
23.  Friday: Annual election of officers of the Red Cross.  Belgium gets a new king today Leopold III son of former King Albert, is enthroned.  He is 32 years of age.
24.  Saturday: Had a request today to run for a member of the School Board at the coming spring election.
25.  Sunday: 10.30 Mass as usual in the church was crowded.  Worked part of the morning, part of the afternoon.  Ed Fretchel and Thres were over this evening.  Played 9 games of Cinch.
26.  Monday: Joe Heip and Anna are here this evening for a game of sheephead.  Frank Weisheipl’s wife Anna is taken ill suddenly rushed to the hospital and operated for appendicitis.  Joe Fenzl is not so well, he was taken to the hospital, his ailment has not been diagnosed as yet.  We have a new postmaster today.  Arthur H. Gruenewald is the Democratic appointee.  Dr. Peter Bill, resigned as head of the Northern Hospital for the Insane.
27.  Tuesday: Rose Baier (Mrs. Bill Mauritz) be gets oh boy this morning.  This makes Bill, Pa twice and Joe Baier is proud to be uncle again.  Attended another sheephead tournament at John Spanbauer’s.  Joe Heip won a picnic ham.  I find that Dr. Has to be Janitor at Bill Mauritz’s so the new born baby wouldn’t freeze.

28.  They are having quite an investigation at the Northern Hospital. 17 attendants were suspended today by the State Board of Control." [Note: The Northern Hospital for the Insane was located 4 miles north of Oshkosh on the western shore of Lake Winnebago.]
