March 16

1936: "Am a sick lady today. Stomach is bad, and I also have 'Charley Horse.' Harold Mueller takes over the 'Werbke Store.' Fred Baumgartner is transferred to the North Store." [from A. E. Potter's diaries]
1941: "To St. John's 8 o'clock Mass with Mary Ann (daughter). A heavy blizzard begins about 7:30 wind is at high velocity. Temperature drops considerably in fact it is near zero at 9:30 P.M. with a high wind still blowing. The storm came out of the Dakotas where an 85 mile gale and 17° below zero weather brings death to many. North Dakota registers 38 deaths, Minnesota 28, New York 4, Wisconsin 3, Ohio 2, Michigan 2, Pennsylvania 1. One man died while going from his house to his barn. It seems the strong wind and heavy dust and snow suffocated people." [from A. E. Potter's diaries]
2001: Logan Kolaske, son of Brian and Christi Kolaske, grandson of Michael and Debbie (nee Potter) Kolaske, great-grandson of Don and Arlene Potter, great-great-grandson of A.E. and Theresa Potter, is born.
