March 18

1936: "Mary Ann (daughter) loses first tooth. Attended a movie for a change. The Country Doctor is the picture, featuring the Dionne Quintuplets. [from A. E. Potter's diaries]
1937: " Our Sheephead Club meets at Joe Hemmer. We had wine and beer and wine and beer and finally wine and beer got the best of Hemmer. He was a pretty sick lady. I got home at 3 A.M. Bill Mauritz got the dollar." [from A. E. Potter's diaries]
1954: "Playoffs in the WIAA basketball tournament begin today in Madison. Our Oshkosh Indians defeat Waukesha 67-60. Larry Swanson, guard for our high school team, made 31 points. Thres and me visit Aunt Mary at Mercy tonite. Also surprised to find Hattie Bathke confined at the hospital. She is Ernie Siewert's sister. She will be 76 in April. Maxine, Ray's wife, is with her. Also stopped to see Mrs. Kavage; she is in pretty bad shape, also Amber Holmes. Sister Cornelia has a heart spell, we sended with quite a visit with Sister Iranaea." [from A. E. Potter's diaries]
