May 14

1939: "This is a great day for Mary Ann (daughter). She makes her "First Holy Communion." It is a fair day. She does much visiting. Sick Aunty Drexler, Aunt Lena Baier, Ray Ostertag  and family were there - Uncle John Drexler, Aunt Ottillia Drexler, Joe Drexler family, Amanda Drexler, Joe Weisheipl family." [from A. E. Potter's diaries]
1940: "Drove to E.R. Smith cottage for conference about Red Cross Drive. Erwin Spoo, Earl Fuller were with me. Mr. Smith also showed us his cottage and garages. Also dropped in to see Bob Downs at Cook & Brown and from there Ed Shrank at Wis. Public Service. No help so far, with the exception of E.R. Smith allowing us to use the facilities of the "Oshkosh Community Chest" office. Visited Grandma Baier; she is somewhat better." [from A. E. Potter's diaries]
1944: "To 7:30 Mass at St. John's with Thres and Mary Ann. Thres is feeling much better today. This noon left for St. Nazianz with Mary Ann, Fred Karst, and Mrs. Frank Drexler. The Salvatorian Glee Club (Donald belongs) puts on a nice entertainment." [from A. E. Potter's diaries]
