1941: "To 7:30 Mass, then to work until 1 P.M. Took Donald to St. Lawrence College Mt. Calvary this afternoon. Father Lawrence celebrates his silver jubilee. Met Rev. Alexis Gore, the Rector of the College. There were many visitors. May Devotion at the Shrine of the Blessed Virgin was very impressive. The Capuchin Fathers have a privileged Altar in their chapel which means a plenary indulgence every time a Mass is offered. Donald is very much impressed. Back to work at 4:45. Worked until 11 P.M. - 9 hours today. Thres plays Bingo at Sacred Heart Bazaar; she was also there this afternoon." [from A. E. Potter's diaries]
1944: "A marker is being set up for Grandma Baier today at Riverside Cemetery. Rexall gathering at the Raulf tonight. Ralph Rhyner, Maxey, Harry Ferry are here. Towns represented Neenah, Appleton, Fond du Lac, Wautoma, Oshkosh. Home at 1:15 A.M. Took Thres and Ed and Thres Fretchel to the cottage to clean up the inside.
