1941: "Another hot day, temperature is 86° in the shade. Frank Drexler (1210 9th) begins working at South Side Wood and Coal Company office. Ed Sittzberger from New Mexico was in today to say hello; he has been gone 14 years. His mother is also here with him. Robert Lutz, Pres. Lutz Stone Company passed away at 2 o'clock this morning at his home. Born March 27, 1867. W.C. (Clyde) Springgate head of the Oshkosh Business College passed away at 11:55 A.M. today. Born Oct. 23, 1878 at White Hall, Ill. He was secretary of the Oshkosh Kiwanis 8 years and twice president." [from A. E. Potter's diaries]
1954: "George and Doris Mitchell complete washing walls and woodwork today. Took Annie Weisheipl to Security Bank today to cash in her savings bonds.Had 21-25 dollar ones." [from A. E. Potter's diaries]
1956: "Dr. Ray and Elsie Wagner are married 23 years as of today. Art and Marie Hill are married 5 years.  Harry W. Lee and Stella Neubauer are married 41 years. Our neighbor Ernie Koch is 69. Loyalty Day celebration in Oshkosh is somewhat marred by rain. Fred Baumgartner and Art Mueller are in Milwaukee today to be inducted into the Shriners. Sylvester Propson is also inducted. Tonite we have severe electrical storms and heavy showers. Victor Riesel will never see again according to his attending physician."  [from A. E. Potter's diaries]
