1945: "Thres takes Aunt Lena, Thres Fretchel and Mary Ann to Foresters card party at St. Vincent's. This is the first time she takes the car on her own since she was sick over a year ago. Tony Sipple passed away this afternoon 5:30 at Mercy Hospital. Born in Austria Jan 9, 1884. Married to Anna Drexler Oct. 20 1908." [from A. E. Potter's diaries]
1950: "To 7:00 o'clock Mass- Father Arthur. Father Gerard on side altar. This no doubt is their farewell Mass after the mission. Thres and me are busy getting ready for tonite's K.C. Party. We stop at Ed and Rose Binder's for cocktails. Tony - Nora Serwas, Les - Mary Borisch, Ed - Dess Wirtz are there also. We have a grand time at the party at Club 41. Fathers Wagner and Murphy are there. Home at 2:30. Thres feels a bit of uneasiness, a little stomach upset. She's OK in a short time." [from A. E. Potter's diaries]
1953: "Work this morning. This afternoon Donald, Joe, Thres, and myself took storms off at the cottage, put on screens, and cut grass in front of the cottage. I learn we are being picketed at our North Store job. Electricians strike is on. Rudy Haveman is in reporting on Attorney Wm Engler getting a location above the Security Bank. Had quite a talk with Mr. Con about Joe. Mr. Coon has no way of providing meals for Joe and this means that Joe will not go back." [from A. E. Potter's diaries]
