RNXMOK] Eddie Weisheipl has a bad morning at the store, he was to the American
Legion Convention at Fond du Lac last night and it sure put him on the bum, and
tonite Club 41. What a life! Attended the Strand tonite, with Joe and Annie
Weisheipl. “Mrs. Miniver” starring Greer
Garson and Walter Pidgeon is the picture and it is very good. Chicken lunch at George Buchanan’s after the
show. Esther Nigl is laid to rest this
morning.
02. Sunday: [7] To 730 Mass at St.
Johns, then to work. Thres takes a drive
to the cottage with her sisters Mary and Annie while I nap. St. Vincents have a big bingo party to take
the place of the Annual Picnic and it is a grand success. I worked 9 ½ hours today.
03. Monday: [8M RNXMOK]
Naomi Mueller is on her vacation this week.
Rose Weisheipl is working her hours at the store. Took Art Mueller and Fred Baumgartner to
Green Bay to Northland Hotel to buy holiday merchandise from United Drug
Company. Stopped at “Tony Wonder’s Club”
Little Chute on the way back.
04. Tuesday: [6M RNXMOK]
Thres attends Ladies Auxiliary at Mrs. Walter Dodd’s who entertains at Dr. J. E.
Scheins cottage. It is a beautiful day. Annie Weisheipl wins 3 dollars at the V. F. W.
Bingo. Thres out to the cottage with the
family this evening. Jackie Neustifter and
Carol Steinert our house guests.
05. Wednesday: [2M RNXMOK
T] Cut all the grass at the cottage day, and that is quite a job. In the evening the Heips and Ed and Thres
Fretchel are up. Sheephead is played as
usual with Thres Fretchel and Annie getting their share of errors. Party broke up at 1 A.M. Dolores Kinateder is 12 years of age today.

RNXMOK] Rain this morning and do I hate to get up. The folks come in from the country this
afternoon. And it rained all day.

church at 530 Donald serves. Com. Esther Nigl
08. Saturday: [6M RO T] Well,
Thres and I complete another year of married life. We are married 31 years and it doesn’t seem
half that long. In the evening we are
surprised by Joe and Anna Weisheipl – Bill and Emma Siewert – and Ann and Thres
Fretchel. Party breaks up at 1.50 A.M.
Sunday. Six Nazis Saboteurs are
electrocuted today at noon in the District of Columbia jail. Their names Herman Neubauer –Heinrich Heink –Werner
Thiel –Edward Kerling –Robert Quirine –Herbert Haupt. Ernest P. Burger was
given life sentence and George John Dasch 30 years at hard labor.
09. Sunday: To 730 Mass at
St. Johns. I’m a bit tired this morning. Well, I put in 8 hours of work. Thres plays Bingo at the American Legion Club
House.

RNXMOK] Eddie Weisheipl goes on vacation today.
Naomi Mueller is back to work after being gone 8 days.

RNXMOK] John Fretchel brother to Ed is very low today. Father Bastian administers “Extreme Unction.”

Took the family with Ed and Thres Fretchel and little Fay Spanbauer to
Milwaukee. The Fretchels visit with
their daughter Sister Linus, while I go on a buying two are at Mutual Drug – A.C. McClurgs and Yahr Lange’s. Had luncheon at Mader’s. Started for home at 6 P.M. stopped at Muellers
Café, Menominee Falls for supper, and by the way this is the first time Ed and
Thres Fretchel had a meal in a restaurant.

14. Friday: [4M
RNXMOK] Took Joe Weisheipl to Milwaukee to see Floyd Jenkins, Court
Commissioner. Joe had to testify in a
case of a delinquent draftee, by name of _____ Thomas. We stopped to visit with Carl and Margaret
Radomsky. This is Joe’s first visit
there. Had luncheon at Mader’s, Lake Superior
Trout. Joe and Emma Baier visit at our
cottage this afternoon and evening.
Donald cuts grass at Dr. Hanbrick’s estate and earns a dollar. John Fretchel is taken to Mercy Hospital
today.

RN] Romy Czekalski is 29 today. To St.
Vincents Church 7 A.M. took Ed Fretchel to Mercy Hospital for a blood test. He may have to be a donor for his brother
John. Elizabeth Bohlson – Miller –Samuel
has a birthday today. I believe she is

today. He may be inducted into the army. Com.
“Donald.” Took Ed and Thres Fretchel to the Oshkosh tonite. “My Favorite Spy” stars Kay Kiser - Ellen Drew
– Jane Wyman and Kisers Band. “Powder
Town” stars Vic McLaglen – Edmond O’Brien - June Havoc – Dorothy Lovett. After the show Fritz Weisheipl’s
16. Sunday: [T] To 730 Mass at St. Johns. Joe and Emma Baier – Joe Jr. and Fay –Bill
and Rose Mauritz – Joan – Billy and Barbara – Ray – Anna Ostertag Raymond – Jimmy
–Carol Ann –Erna Mauritz and her 2 children, Lena Baier all spend the day at
our cottage.
17. Monday: [4M] Rose
Weisheipl is on her vacation today and the rest of this week. Word is received by relatives that Albert Schoettl
passed away suddenly yesterday morning at 6 Oclock, in Wausau. Mrs. Wenz Putzer – Mrs. Tony Sipple and Mrs.
John Girens will attend funeral tomorrow morning.
18. Tuesday: [6M N] We have a test Blackout in our
ward and the third tonite from 930 to 1000. Aloys Kinateder is the air – raid warden in
our block.
19. Wednesday: [2M T] Father Frank Schoettl and
his mother are in the city. Frank is
looking well, altho he lost 40 pounds.
Thres has some moles removed on her face by Dr. Ray Wagner. Back to the cottage this afternoon. We take Aunt Lena along.
20. Thursday: [4M N] Thres enters Mercy Hospital
today. She is being treated by Dr. Ray
Wagner for varicose veins. They have
been bothering her considerably of late.
Dropped in to see John Fretchel, he is cheerful but is in poor shape. Mrs. Graduation at Nurses Home of Mercy
Hospital. About 40 are graduated. Dr. Wm Wagner presents diplomas. We had an invitation but could not attend. Any Weisheipl and Thres Fretchel dropped in
to see Thres this evening. I took Mary
over.
21. Friday: [4M] Aunt Lena Baier has company at
the cottage this afternoon, Joe Baier and family. In the evening Joe and Annie Weisheipl and Ed
and Thres Fretchel come out. We break in
Aunt Lena at 5 handed Sheephead. She
learns fast, won 25 cents. Party broke
up at 12.30 A.M. Bill Glidden is here to
paint our house. His ladders arrived
yesterday, afternoon.
22. Saturday: [4M] Brazil declares “War” on Germany and
Italy. It is expected other South American countries will follow shortly.
Brought Thres home from hospital this afternoon. She must stay off her feet for
several more days. Rose - Marion
Weisheipl, Mary - Helen Berndt and Margaret Putzer drive to Milwaukee. Visit at
Karl and Margaret Radomsky and make some records.
23. Sunday: To 730 Mass at
St. Johns with Mary Ann, then to work.
Aunt Lena Baier is here for the afternoon and evening. Joe Weisheipl has his first bad day of Harry
Fever today. Temperature is down to 39°
this morning. I worked ten hours
today. Martin Keck iii drives to Chicago
tonite after work. Roger Allmers begins
vacation today.
24. Monday: [4M] Rose Weisheipl is back on the job
today, she’s been gone eight days. Anna
(Mrs. Theodore) Drexler takes the train to Milwaukee tonight. Leona stays with us as a night guest, until
she will leave for Milwaukee the latter part of the week. Temperature down to 39° this morning. Last year Sept 11th was the first
39° reading, and Sept 29th dropped to 32°and Oct 25th to
29°.
25. Tuesday: [6M] Art Mueller takes his family to
Milwaukee. Harold and Eva Mueller their
wedding anniversary. Gov. Julius Heil
makes a campaign speech, for re-election, at South Park. A total eclipse of the moon is visible tonite,
it is very interesting. Period of
eclipse is from 802 to 1.34 Wednesday A.M. Total eclipse is from 10:09 to 11:35 and I watched
a good part of the entire eclipse. It is
visible in general thru-out the U.S., parts of Europe & Asia.

Eddie Weisheipl and Thres Fretchel over before 7 Oclock this evening to visit
Thres. Joe Weisheipl comes in at 10.30
Party broke up at 1 A.M. Prince George,
youngest brother of King George VI of England, known as the “Duke of Kent” was
killed yesterday when a Sunderland flying boat crashed in Northern Scotland. He was enroute to Iceland.
27. Thursday: Leona
Drexler goes to Milwaukee tonite.
28. Friday: [8M T] Thres has stitches removed from
incisions.
29. Saturday: [4M] Martin
Koeck III is going to leave our employ tonite.
Thres and myself attend the Oshkosh Theatre tonite “The Magnificent Dope”
stars Henry Fonda –Lynn Bari and Don Ameche, also “Sleepy Time Gal” starring
Judy Canova, worlds greatest Comedienne.
30. Sunday: To 730 Mass at St. Johns, then to work. Turns out to be a rather hot day. Temperature about 90°. In the evening we drive to the cottage. Ed and Thres Fretchel, Joe and Annie
Weisheipl also are out. Party breaks up
at 130 A.M. The
Fretchels stay over night. Donald has
Clarence Fisher for house guest.
31. Monday: [8M]
Wayne Wieckering begins work at our South Side Store.
