Albert Sitter passed away this morning at Mercy Hospital. Born March 30 – 1893. Brother of John – Frank and Paul.

Elect Orland Loomis passed away tonite at 650 at Madison
General Hospital. Had been ill only
since last Friday.

Josephine Boettge laid to rest.
Born in Nekimi Dec 13 – 1874 married to August Boettge June 12 – 1906. Cork Weisheipl blows into town tonite on a
furlough. He stops of the store with his
Ellen.

14. Monday: [N] Jacob Embs passed away last
evening at St. Marys Hospital at 7.44.
Born July 1 – 1859. He lived at St.
Mary’s for some time. Frank (Shorty)
Berg former director of recreation in Oshkosh passed away this morning 11.15 at
Manitowoc where he was employed as interviewer in the office of United State
employment service. While shoveling snow
from walk in front of his home he suffered a heart attack, from which he was
confined to hospital. Born May 7 – 1893

this morning. Jake Embs is laid to rest
this morning.

more inches of snow today and it is still snowing tonite.

20. Sunday: [N] To 730 Mass at St.
Johns, then to work. And it surely is a
busy day at the store. Thres comes down
with me tonite. Got out most of the
Christmas Cards, also mailed our Christmas Packages, got home at 115
A.M. Monday.
21. Monday: [4M N] Temperature is up today. It is sleeting tonite and the driving is
terrible. Thres goes to Bingo at St.
Vincents. Takes Mary Ilk – Thres
Fretchel –Annie Heip. The sleet annoys
her very much. She felt bad when she got
home. I was worried she might get a bad
spell. I had quite a time myself defrosting
my windshield when I took Naomi home and stopped at the post – office.

Cater is laid to rest at Ellenwood Cemetery.
We attend funeral services at Rev. Koch’s Church
24. Thursday: This is one of our busiest days.
25. Friday: [T] Attend
midnight Mass at St. Vincents. Our organ is back on the job, in fact it
is entirely new with the exception of some of the pipes from our
original. This afternoon we visited an
exchange presents at Anna Drexlers and Joe Weisheipl’s. Annie Weisheipl has a cold for three weeks
and is still very hoarse. Tonite Harry
Kujawa and family are with us. We play Royal
Rummy. They leave at 11.30. Laurence and Dolores Kinateder are overnight
guests. Com. Welfare of Family
26. Saturday: [2M] Today is a day of rain. Rose
Weisheipl is with us for the noonday meal. We find she likes turkey very
much. Father John Nuernberg drops in to say "Merry
Christmas." He is not feeling very well although he looks 100°.
Anna Weisheipl is in bed today. Pains in neck and hip, sounds like Rheumatism.
Donald and myself attend Basketball - All Stars against Chicago Studebakers.
Stars win 44-33. Mother and Mary Ann see “Bambi” and the Ice-Capades at the Oshkosh and
it is still raining.
27. Sunday: Today is
Father William Renner's silver anniversary as a priest. He is stationed
at Alexandria Minnesota Let us hope he will live to celebrate his golden
anniversary. Attended 730 Mass at St. Johns with Thres and Mary
Ann. It is still raining when we go to church. Car was stuck
near the church when we start for home. Dicky Hill gives us a push.
Donald has dinner at Louis Koelbl's, guest of Norman. St Vincents Church
Organ is dedicated tonite. Donald serves, lasts from 730
to 900. Com.

30. Wednesday: We
have company today, Emma Baier with Faye and Joe Jr., Ann Ostertag with Raymond
and Jimmie, Rose Mauritz with Joan and Billy.
31. Thursday: F.W. Mueller is 69 today. Took Ed and Rose Weisheipl home from work,
which is rather unusual these days during gas rationing. Donald and Mary Ann spend the day at the Bill
Mauritz home and also with Raymond and Jimmie Ostertag. Ed and Thres Fretchel and Anna Weisheipl
spend the New Year’s Eve with us. Joe
Weisheipl can not get the evening off, he could not spend Christmas Eve with
his family either. Thres Fretchel is
lucky at cards. Party breaks up at 3.30
A.M. 1943. The town is still very much

our overnite guests.
